Airlines connecting Kerala’s three international airports with the major Indian cities and international destinations provide easy accessibility to the tropical paradise. Several airlines (both Indian and foreign) operate flights to the Kerala airports – Cochin (Kochi), Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram) and Calicut (Kozhikode). As all the three airports in Kerala have the ‘international’ status, foreign tourists can directly land in Kerala. Facilities for customs clearance and other formalities for entering India as tourists are available at all the 3 airports. They are located in southern, central and northern parts of Kerala.
Two more airports are being developed in Kerala. One is at Kannur (Canannore) in north Kerala and the other at Aranmula is southern Kerala. When these two projects are completed in 2-3 years, connectivity to various tourist destinations in Kerala will improve. |
